If you have (Windows 95/98/ME)
Go to Start, then click Run. Type winipcfg. Check and make sure your ethernet adapter is listed and highlighted in the drop down box. Note: If you don't see your adapter and all you see is the dial-up adapter, you need to either install your network or reinstall your network card.

If you have (Windows 2000/XP)

Go to Start, then click Run. Type cmd and hit Enter. Type ipconfig and hit enter. Check and see if you have an IP address. It should be in a form like 10.10.?.?. Note: If you don't see your adapter and all you see is the dial-up adapter, you need to either install your network or reinstall your network card.

If there is only zeros or an IP address of 192.?.?.? then you need to check the cables (make sure you have an ethernet cable and not a phone cable) and reboot. If that still does not work call the Helpdesk @4900.
